Goodbye To My Supermom

So I haven’t had much time to mourn but I will. I’m just one of those people who needs to really stop and take note to contemplate change.  And the evolving nature of life. I need to make sure I recognize when growth is happening.  I just want to feel it. But recently, I’ve been too busy to feel it.

So as you can tell, Moms without Blogs is growing and changing and evolving. It was time for me to say goodbye to the supermom image that was designed for me by the super-talented, Nap Warden, and to evolve into a vibe that I felt was more of where I am at.  I’m still a firm believer in our original tagline, “Being a supermom is simply a state of mind” and I will profess that truth on my lips till the end of time to the anyone who will listen.

But right now? For me? My life is in transition on so many levels and I just wanted to strip down the message of this little creative site of mine.  I wanted to ground the vibe to where I live, what I feel on a daily basis, and to just get more micro in my approach.  I live in Los Angeles, near the beach, in the sunshine, where the playground of the Santa Monica Pier is a hop, skip and jump away.

So the brilliant Shauna of See My Designs who has also worked so hard on my labor of love, The State of the Mom, spearheaded the new look over here.  She also made the daunting move to WordPress for me that my friends, Ash and Deb, were so brave to make on their own.  Brave or maybe crazy.  I see it both ways.

This past Saturday night I met some cool women at this awesome event that Kim Prince of House of Prince got in gear for an incredible organization she supports, Help A Mother Out, and I was chatting with Sarah Auerswald of Mar Vista Mom. She’s all about local happenings here on the westside of Los Angeles, and I told her how I wanted to make more effort to connect with local mom bloggers who were making an effort to create community not only on their blogs but in the three-dimensional world as well. Because if there’s one thing I’ve continued to learn about myself through this blogging life is that I’m a three-dimensional person. I really want to try and bring the energy I pour into this site more into my daily life.  Does that make sense?

So Moms without Blogs is evolving as always and if reading the words that live here still make sense for you, right on.  And if it’s time for you to move along on your way, right on too.

Goodbye cool mom chick with the flip-flops and your genius supermom shadow.  Thanks for helping me get in the right state of mind on so many days.

Onward we go.

So……wanna go ride the ferris wheel and leave blogging behind for a day?

Sigh – another reason I wish I lived in L.A. Three-dimensional Lee would be awesome.

And brave might be one word, crazy another. Try these on: stupid, idiotic, frustrating, exhausting, worrisome, regretful…but yours totally rocks.

I’d give you more, but I have to get E out the door.

P.S. Shauna – please tell me there’s an easy way to do those cool share buttons at the end of the post?!

    • Lee says:

Are you getting this email into your inbox? Do tell! 🙂 Yeah, my friend, can’t wait for some 3-dimensional time. And perhaps Shauna can style you with those buttons? Hope so!!
      Chat soon…

      • Ash says:

Sorry chic-a-poo – not showing up in my gmail box.

Neither Deb nor me could figure out how to get this to work, so you’re in good company 😉

    I heart you, Leanne!

    • Lee says:

Ha ha with using my name!! And it’s spelled Leane FYI… 🙂 But why would you ever know that?

I dig you too and I’ll be thinking of you all weekend long. ESPECIALLY on Mother’s Day at like 3 PM CST. That’s curtain time right?

    So cool!!! Love it.

I will miss the flip-flopped supermom, but I love the groovy new look.

  7. Oh, I LOVE the new look and the colors and the silhouette and the whole vibe! I have so many memories of the Santa Monica pier. There is a photo booth in the arcade that takes the best photos (but it has been 4 years).

    • Lee says:

Thanks. We love the pier too!!! My kids just adore it. Some locals think it’s just for tourists. I think they are crazy.

      Happy Friday!

  8. I am SO GLAD that I have moved from 2-D to 3-D with you, dude. I adore you, and I love the new look. It’s so you. It’s perfect, really. And I think the local 3-D blogging community is so right up your alley it’s ridiculous.

    Let’s talk soon. Miss you.
